My review of Matt Halteman's book Compassionate Eating as Care of Creation was published by the journal Between the Species and is  available online. I hope to return to these ideas (the ethics of eating, the theology of nature, and the role of animal suffering in the problem of evil) in future papers.

Here are some unpublished papers in various stages of revision.

An excerpt from my dissertation, focusing on Hume's ethics and aesthetics:
My master's thesis in early modern metaphysics and epistemology:
An attempt to clarify the concept of "freedom" in Augustine's philosophy of action:

A reading of Akira Kurosawa's 1950 samuri film Rashomon as a text which confirms its own truth (viz. that people are prone to self-deception) by tempting us to misinterpret its message:

A rebuttal of contemporary arguments for skepticism:
A reconstruction of the argument of the film "Batman Begins" along with a criticism from the perspective of Christian theology:

A discussion of the role of animals in C.S. Lewis's theodicy:
I'm not happy with this paper (it needs a critical evaluation of Lewis), but it illustrates my interest in the problem of evil, the concept of providence, and the moral status of animals.

A study of Plato's moral theory, including the role of aesthetics in Platonic ethics:

An early study of art's role in moral development, here focusing on an Aristotelian approach:
This paper's review of contemporary Aristotelianism is somewhat outdated, but this is exactly the kind of research I plan to continue.
